Plans and billing
Falcon has four plans: Free, Starter, Growth and Pro. They differ in how many returns you can take each month and which features are included. Prices are shown on Falcon's Plan and billing page.
All charges go through Shopify on your Shopify invoice. Falcon never asks for card details.
Plans at a glance
| Plan | Returns per month | Returns per year (yearly billing) | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 25 | — | — |
| Starter | 100 | 1,200 | 30 days |
| Growth | 400 | 4,800 | 30 days |
| Pro | 1,500 | 18,000 | 30 days |
Each return request counts once, however many items it has. Returns created in Shopify admin show up in Falcon and count toward your usage too, but they are never blocked.

Monthly or yearly
Use the Monthly / Yearly toggle above the plan cards. Yearly billing costs ten months of the monthly price, so two months are free.
| Monthly | Yearly | |
|---|---|---|
| Returns | Your plan's monthly amount each 30-day cycle | Twelve months of returns for the whole year, used whenever you need them |
| Busy month | Extra returns are billed one by one, up to twice your plan's monthly returns | No extra-return charges. Quiet months cover busy ones. |
| Count resets | With each 30-day Shopify billing cycle | Once a year |
On Free, the count resets on the 1st of each month (UTC).
When you reach your limit
| Plan | What happens |
|---|---|
| Free | New returns pause until next month. |
| Monthly paid plan | Returns keep working. Each extra return is billed at your plan's rate, up to twice your monthly returns. Past that, new returns pause until the count resets or you upgrade. |
| Yearly paid plan | New returns pause when the year's returns are used. Upgrade to keep going; Shopify credits the unused part. |
While new returns are paused:
- Customers on the return page see "We can't accept new return requests online right now. Please contact the store."
- Create a return in Falcon shows "You've used all the returns in your plan for this period. Upgrade in Plan and billing to create more."
- Returns you create in Shopify admin are never blocked. They still show up in Falcon.
- Returns already in progress keep working. You can approve, receive and refund them as usual.
Watch your pace
The Your plan card shows "X of Y returns used", when the count Resets, and what you are On pace for. If you are heading past your limit, Falcon tells you around which date and may suggest a plan that "fits your volume".
Free trial
Paid plans come with a 30-day free trial, once per store. Switching plans during the trial keeps the days you have left. Cancelling, switching later or reinstalling doesn't start a new trial.
If a launch offer is open for your store, a box at the top of Plan and billing explains it. It applies to monthly plans only, once per store, and Shopify shows the discount on its approval screen.
Change your plan
- Open Plan and billing.
- Choose Monthly or Yearly.
- On the plan you want, click Start 30-day free trial (shown while you are on Free and haven't used your trial), Upgrade to …, Downgrade to …, or Switch to yearly / Switch to monthly. Your plan shows Your current plan.
- Approve the charge on Shopify's screen. You return to Falcon and see "Plan updated".
Plan changes apply as soon as you approve them. Shopify prorates the charges.
Downgrade or cancel
- To move to a smaller paid plan, click Downgrade to … and approve in Shopify.
- To stop paying, click the button on the Free plan and confirm "Switch to Free? Your paid subscription will be cancelled." There is no Shopify approval step for this. You see "Switched to Free".
- Uninstalling Falcon also stops all charges.
Your settings are kept
When you move to a lower plan, settings for features it doesn't include are paused, not deleted. For example, fees and custom CSS stop applying, and automations show as paused. Upgrade again and they come back as they were.
If something goes wrong
- "Shopify couldn't start the plan change. Your current plan is unchanged. Try again in a moment."
- Couldn't refresh your subscription from Shopify: the plan shown may be out of date. Reload the page in a minute.
