Add the return link to your store
Your return page is live as soon as you install Falcon. Customers only find it if you link to it. This page shows how to add the link to a menu, how to change the address, and how the Request return button in customer accounts works.
Your return page link
By default the return page lives at your store's address followed by /apps/falcon-returns. For example:
https://your-store.myshopify.com/apps/falcon-returns
To copy it:
- In Falcon, go to Return page.
- Click Copy link at the top, or the copy button next to the path under Set up.
Add the link to your menu
Most stores put the link in the footer, or in a help or customer service menu.
- In Falcon, go to Return page.
- Under Set up, step 1 Add the link to your store menu, copy the path (for example
/apps/falcon-returns). - Click your navigation menu. It opens Content → Menus in your Shopify admin.
- Open the menu you want, usually your footer menu.
- Click Add menu item.
- Give it a name customers will understand, such as "Returns and exchanges" or "Start a return".
- Paste the path into the link field.
- Save the menu.
Shortcut from the Dashboard
On the Dashboard setup card, Copy link and open menus copies the full link and opens Content → Menus in one click.
You can also link to the page from anywhere else in your store, such as your shipping and returns policy page, an FAQ page, or your order confirmation emails.
Change the address (optional)
You can change both parts of the address: the prefix (for example apps) and the handle (for example falcon-returns). Shopify controls this address, so you change it in Shopify first and then match it in Falcon.
- In Falcon, go to Return page and find Choose the address (optional) under Set up.
- Click Shopify app proxy settings. Change the address for Falcon there and save.
- Back in Falcon, pick the same prefix from the list. The choices are
apps,a,communityandtools. - Type the same handle. It can use lowercase letters, numbers and dashes, up to 63 characters.
- Check the line Customers will see. It shows the full new address.
- Click Save.
Both addresses must match
If the address in Shopify and the address in Falcon are different, links and the customer account button point to the wrong place. Change Shopify first, then Falcon. Update your menu links to the new address too.
Request return button in customer accounts
Customers who are signed in to your store can start a return from their order, without typing an order number or email. This is on by default. There is nothing to set up in Falcon.
- Request return button. Shown in the action menu of each shipped order in the customer account. It opens your return page on that order, already signed in.
- Sign in on the return page. Your return page has a Sign in link. After signing in, customers see all their orders.
- Order number and email still work for guests and anyone who prefers them.
The button stays hidden on orders that haven't shipped yet. It always points at your current return page address, including after you change it.
To manage customer accounts for your store, go to Return page → Customer accounts and click Customer account settings in Shopify.
